I've slipped into my slovenly ways and haven't published for a few days. It is mostly because not much new happens around here these days.
Al spends his time reading (the latest C.J. Box novel is his latest), and Marilyn is reading and working on her classroom assignents. As I look over her shoulder, it is pretty clear that she spends more time reading than writing. She has read two very interesting memoirs (homework, she calls it), called “The Liar's Club” and “Lit”, both by Mary Karr. Excellent writer, Marilyn says and she shakes her head saying: “my memoir will never be as interesting and colorful as that woman's.”
I am spending a lot of time napping. Little Yellow still is not feeling his best, but Busted is always ready to get out and about.
We have been blessed with a mild summer. We have had to turn on the air conditioner only a few days and the nights are always cool. A far cry from the days in MO when a cousin used to wrap himself in a wet sheet at night to cool off. Marilyn's mom always said “a nice breeze comes down the valley at night” which was true. One of the advantages of growing up in Dog Holler.
That's all for today. Just wanted to check in.
