Back in November 2008, Marilyn and Al received a gift of a Christmas Cactus for their east coast family, Al's son David, and Kim, Katie and Eric.
The Cactus made it through the year and bloomed again in 2009 as you can see below on the right.
Because of the cats who like to dig in any plants in the main Lucky Dog cabin, the Cactus had to be moved over to the guest cabin where it is in bloom for this holiday season. It seems to flourish with benign neglect. No one talks to it or even waters it very often, yet it persists in getting more beautiful every year – a gift that keeps on giving.
The picture of it at the guest cabin sure looks nice but I am not allowed to go over there to see it in person.
