Yesterday morning was the coldest we have experienced since moving to Minnesota last June. The wind chill was -40, we heard on the news.
Imagine my surprise when I over heard M & A saying that they planned to go mouse hunting. They didn't even invite me to participate in the discussion. What nerve. They know that I am bred to hunt vermin. Besides, I haven't allowed a single critter to come into the house since we moved here.
Well, later in the day after a few cups of coffee and tea, the conversation started again. This time there was more detail – who they would meet and where. I wasn't to be included, of course.
Finally, I understood what they were really talking about – they were going HOUSE hunting. It seems that the real estate “season” takes off after the Super Bowl (who knew?) and they were getting anxious to find a more permanent place to live.
They told me that they looked at 4 houses yesterday, but only one made Al say “wow”. Of course, that one was a bit pricey, but they are hoping to find something that is “just right” this spring.
I guess it is up to me to continue my patrols and keep us mouse-free.
