To be honest, Marilyn hasn't had a lot to sing about lately, but when she met a couple who said they were part of a community choir last week, she decided to accept their invitation and try it out. Last night she went to her first choir practice.
It was not a conventional choir, the 24 members sat in a circle and the director paced about in the middle. The singing was all a cappella, but in the close harmony that Marilyn loves. The music was different as well. There were African, Hawaiian and spiritual tunes. She said it was a fun evening and she met some nice people.
She is going back to a 2nd writing class next Monday and the choir is giving a concert on February 13, so she may not be able to participate again for a while (she is not ready for prime time with a concert with only one rehearsal under her belt.)
Anyway, it was good to see Marilyn smiling again. I think the classes are good for her.
Tonight is an orchestra concert at the elementary school. Both Ian and Max are in the orchestra so that is a can't miss event.
Finally, some different things are going on around here and I have something to report.
