Yesterday Marilyn took Al to the Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Park Nicollet clinic to have surgery for the skin cancers on his ear and ankle.
As you can tell he was not happy about the procedure. And he was even less happy when the anesthetic wore off. He had a pretty miserable night. He says he is a little better this morning.
The technique involves removing the skin cancer in thin layers and examining the tissues under a microscope to check for cancer. This process is repeated until the microscopic exam reveals no cancer. Al had to go through this twice before they got all of the bad cells.
After four hours of this he was cleared to go home.
Lucky

Lucky, I can empathize with Al's operation. I've had the operation twice on my right hand; it was bandaged and I was fairly helpless for some time as I'm right-handed. Our dermatologist (we go every 6 months) calls Arizona the skin cancer capitol of the world. Good healing, Al!

I still sleep on the pillowcase you gave us long ago. Everytime I touch the lace, I think of you.
Al is still not feeling very well. It was stressful and when the anesthetic wore off, quite painful.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Just checkin in & see where Al has undergone the knife - so sorry! - hope it heals fast.
We are soggy in Tennessee and unusually warm - daffodils think it is time to bloom.
Marilyn, you hang in there - I think you are on the right path!
Give Lucky a pat for me -
Mary
