Yesterday Marilyn and Al went to the clinic for Al's followup appointment with the oncologist to learn about the status of his lymphoma. It was very good news.
All of his blood test numbers were in the normal range and the Dr. was very pleased.
He will need to come back for another followup visit in four months.
I am especially glad because maybe now they will get out and about and gather some news for me. By the way, yesterday morning it was -11 degrees. This morning it is below zero (too dark to read the thermometer yet) and snowing. Winter has arrived in Minnesota at long last.
Lucky

Such good news and I'm so pleased to hear it. Have been attending a weekend jazz festival and workshop and away from the computer until now. Saw Dave Brubeck's sons and got to set in on some of their classes with middle school bands. They are great.

Great news about Al. Hope everything keeps getting better and better. Saw the winter forecast for your neck of the woods. Sure glad we aren't having the snow and cold here. I know it will catch up with us sooner or later, but it's heading toward the last of January and we are still having good weather---unusual, but I'll take it.

Years ago when I was flying for Jones Truck Lines we would fly into St. Paul and call on the 3M Company. We were there one winter when the wind chill was 65 below zero. The locals handle the cold quite well but for Ozark hillbillies like us it was incredibly uncomfortable. The good side of the cold is that the spring and summer colors of plants and flowers are mind blowing in their beauty.
Guess they try to make up for the short growing season?
