Yesterday, David, Al and Marilyn went to Stella, MO to have lunch at Big R's Barbecue. As you have properly guessed, the vegetarian diet is pretty much history during this time of stress.
Big R's is owned and operated by a local man who brought a nice restaurant to (pretty much) the middle of nowhere. They are doing a thriving business which once again proves that “if you build it, they will come.”
The food was good and the portions more than generous. Marilyn still owes her sister a lunch there. She won't forget to do that.
They decided to get go boxes and have some dessert that is made on the premises, like all of the food. That is a rare thing these days of packaged food.
Dessert portions were so generous that they got go boxes, too.
After a bit of time to catch their breaths, M & A are ready to work again on the recovery process. I think I will take a nap.
Lucky

Are they closed now?

The restaurant employs around 20 people and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone number is 628-RIBS (7427).
I googled "big r's Missouri" and found an article from the Neosho Daily from Feb. 14. the quote is from that article.

I thought they were open Tues-Sunday for lunch and dinner. Maybe open Monday, but not sure. They are really busy on weekends. Don't know why they seemed closed today. There is a neon "open" sign when they are open. It is worth the trip.

Marilyn, we drove by today, and Big R's didn't look open. Do you happen to know their business hours? Thanks, Diana Flanary Ross
