Yesterday, Marilyn’s sister Zella took Marilyn and Al out for a birthday lunch. She took them to a restaurant just outside of Neosho called Undercliff Bar & Grill. It is actually at Tipton Ford on Shoal Creek.
This restaurant is built in a very unusual location, under a cliff (although most people around here would call it a bluff). UnderCliff Web Page.
The restaurant was very busy and they had a good hour wait before being seated. There was many families with small children waiting with them.
Also waiting were several motorcycle people, since the restaurant is also a favorite of bikers.
When they were seated they had a nice Nacho Plate for their lunch. The food was good and it was OK with Marilyn and Al’s veggie diet.
The place was packed but the service was good. If you look in the background you will see the place is really under a cliff.
In case you were wondering, Zella and Marilyn are not bikers.

I’ll bet a hybrid motorcycle would get 200 miles per the gallon. A sidecar would leave room for groceries. Just another way to go green.

Hi Lucky! Happy belated birthday to you, Marilyn! I just returned from a week in Laguna Beach visiting my daughter. When Dick and I visit the Joplin area we often eat at this restaurant; good food and service. Love the people watching!

Hi Lucky: Thanks for the info regarding this unique restaurant. I remember the Tipton Ford area as we used to often pass by that way to and from Joplin. I chuckled over my personal visual of seeing Zella Mae and Marilyn as bikers. Stranger things have happened! :)
